A guy in my class made a spreadsheet of all of our requirements. It is still confusing sometimes trying to figure out what points go where and how things are added up exactly, but since we are still somewhat *new* we pretty much take points in any clinic we can get.
Various procedures in our clinic are worth a certain amount of points. Usually the more work a procedure the more points it is. Like a crown is worth more than a class I amalgam. Makes sense. In each clinic we have a certain amount of requirements - points wise - AND certain procedures that must be accomplished as well. For instance we need a minimum number of class II amalgams, class II composities, etc.
Points are added up in each clinic and a grade is given for that clinic based on the amount of points. For example our pedo clinic requires 100 points for an A, 30 of which have to be operative points. 80 total points w/ 20 operative = B, etc. Examples of points in pedo: OHI = 1 pt, flouride = 1 pt, prophy = 1 pt, SSC and pulpotomy are 9 pts. Everything inbetween are 2, 3, 4, 5 points. Some clinics are easier than others, endo for example is difficult to get points in because the tooth is either poached by grad endo or it needs to be extracted…
Attached is the spreadsheet of most of our points - or the things we need to do to graduate in two years. Many people are done by January or Feb of their senior year. As for those that slacked off or had externships/interviews/bad luck, well they become super seniors and finish fine.
I have attached the sheet. Enjoy!

As a side note, I am sorry to those of you in my class who got scared after they printed off this form and realized how much work needs to be done to graduate!
