About

Welcome to DMDstudent.com! I started this blog as a pre dental student because of the lack of information out there about applying and attending dental school. This is the FIRST dental student blog! Ya, I know, cheesy as ever. Guess what though? I am done with dental school, and I am now a resident in oral and maxillofacial surgery at one of the busiest hospitals in the U.S. I don’t care if you think my site is cheesy! Screw you HATER! This site used to make me a decent amount of money, but I quit all of that because it really did make my site look cheesy. For the love of the game now, I guess.

Seriously though, because of the lack of information, I started this site and it has grown ever since. I am the sole owner of the site and run it independently. This does not mean that I don’t welcome other authors! If you would like to write for DMDstudent.com then please do not hesitate to let me know in the comment section below. I always respond.

The purpose of this website is to become a resource for those thinking about dental school, those applying to dental school, those in dental school, and those who are done with dental school. There are many questions involved with all of the previously mentioned stages and hopefully they can be answered here.

I accept all forms of criticism, good and bad. I also encourage any suggestions about how the website can be made better.

BIOGRAPHY
I am from the Seattle area of Washington State in the Pacific Northwest. Home of some of the best rain in the world. (That’s what we tell people so they don’t move in.) I graduated from Utah Valley University with a B.S. in Biology like most pre-dental hopefuls. I interviewed at a few places and was accepted to Temple on Dec. 1st, one of the great days of my academic career. Getting into dental school is the HARD part! I was so broke, I cancelled all my other interviews (5 more, I think) and accepted that the next four years would be spent in Philly.
In dental school I entered with the sole purpose of pursuing oral and maxillofacial surgery. I had been intrigued by the specialty from a young age.  This motivated me to study hard.  With some luck, and a lot of sweat equity, I am now a resident pursuing my dream.  Yeah, it is like wiping with sand paper sometimes, but I enjoy it.  I enjoy sharing my experiences as well.  Hope you enjoy the site, subscribe for email updates, and login to comment. I don’t use e-mail because of spam.  If you would like to contact me for a personal discussion, then say so in your comment, I have access to your e-mail that you are required to share when you comment.  I always respond!

  1. I stumbled on your webpage on SDN, which has been an incredible resource for me. I am inspired by your capacity to help pre-dental students and share stories about being a dental student! Keep up the good work!
